SDI Solo Course
This popular SDI Specialty Course prepares the diver for the event of a lost buddy situation without necessarily needing to end the dive. If two buddies are solo qualified and agree on a dive plan they may separate and reunite throughout the dive eliminating the need to surface. The course focuses on mental attitude, limitations, air supply and additional equipment for solo diving.
Pre-requisites: 21 years old & SDI Advanced Diver (or equivalent qualification)
TDI Advanced Nitrox Course
Nitrox mixes up to EANx100% has many advantages and this course may be completed with your recreational BCD. Advanced Nitrox course skills include calculating gas consumption rates, lift bag deployment from depth, and adhering to Maximum Operating Depth limits (MOD).
Pre-requisites: 15 years old with parental consent & TDI Nitrox Diver (or equivalent) with 25 logged dives
Technical Skills Course
Concentrating on Buoyancy, Balance and Trim (BBT), this vital skill set controls the body positioning of a diver who is conducting mandatory decompression. Also a crucial skill when diving in confined spaces, wrecks and/or caves and it's paticularly useful for photographers and videographers.
Pre-equisites: 15 years old with parental consent & Open Water Diver (or equivalent).
TDI Decompression Procedures Course
This course allows the diver to saturate beyond the No Decompression Limits and off-gas the excess nitrogen in the body. The course focuses on dive planning, gas choices, gas management, underwater problem solving, back-up contingency equipment selection and use. Students need primary and back-up equipment and during the course, students will build from simulated decompression stops to conducting several actual decompression open water dives.
Pre-requisites: 18 years old & SDI Advanced Diver and Tech Skills Course (or equivilant) with 25 logged dives.
Twin Set Course
If you're diving with the need for more gas (air/nitrox) for deeper and/or technical dives, the twins scuba course lets you use this equipment with comfort and confidence. A special back-plate/wing system allows the diver to mount and wear a twinset. With safety drills and buoyancy backup techniques, the objective is comfort and balance with a twin set.
Pre-requisites: 12 years old with parental consent & Open Water Diver (or equivalent).
TDI Extended Range Course
Conducting deep dives to 55 meters and carrying 3 Nitrox gas mixtures, twin cylinders with sturdy technical dive gear is a must at this level. All previous skills will be combined and practiced until they become natural and automatic. Dive planning software builds with specific tables and gas planning to examine multiple options for gas reserve and management. Scuba Diving with these Nitrox mixes allows dives to some of the least explored wrecks in the Gulf of Thailand.
Pre-requisites: 18 years old & TDI Advanced Nitrox Diver, TDI Decompression Diver, and the Twins Set Course (or equivalent qualification) with 100 logged dives which must include 25 logged dives deeper than 30 meters.
Though technical diving is becoming more popular in Pattaya and other areas of Thailand, it remains a niche market and tech divers choose to accept the added risks and costs of their adventures and objectives.
